Lenovo Y470 and Y570

Lenovo Y470 and Y570: The Fastest-Booting Windows PCs In the Land

Lenovo's Y470 and Y570 have a lot in common with the other second-generation Intel CorePCs storming CES. But not if you're in a hurry. Then the only thing you'll notice is that they boot in under 10 seconds.
The quick boot times on the 14-inch Y470 and the 15.6-inch Y570 come compliments of Lenovo's RapidDrive technology. Each comes with up to 8GB memory and up to 1TB HDD storage (32GB/64GB SSD optional), integrated Blu-ray drive, and up an Nvidia GeForce 555M 1GB discrete graphics. The Y570d even adds 3D to the mix, if you happen to have any 3D PC content lying around.
That's the good part! The not-as-good part is that the Y470 and Y570 may also be some of the fastest-dying PCs around, with a listed battery life of just 4 hours. Which means much less than that in real-world usage, especially with switchable graphics thrown in And at 4.85 and 5.59 pounds, respectively, the Y470 and Y570 aren't exactly built for long-distance hauling.
But if you don't mind a laptop that's better suited to your desk, and suffer from clinical impatience, the Y470 and Y570 will be available this May starting at $900.
